
He is Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed bin Salem bin Sultan
bin Saqr bin Rashid bin Rahma bin Mattar bin Kayid, born in 1918. He became the
Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah on 17 July 1948, and was known for his religiosity, as
well as his love and passion for raising his children according to the Islamic
teachings, and high Islamic morals.
Throughout
his reign of 62 years, Ras Al Khaimah saw tangible development and enjoyed
stability, security and welfare.
Sheikh
Saqr (may God rest his soul) was known for his prudent policy, vision, and forward-look
toward the future with optimism and hope. Since the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah joined
the Union on February 10, 1972; His Highness played a prominent role in strengthening
the federation march of the UAE, and contributed effectively with his fellow
rulers of the emirates in the economic, educational, health, social boom in the
country.
Sheikh
Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi (may God rest his soul) died on 27 October 2010,
leaving an eternal mark and great successors who will continue to carry the torch
after him.
